The last couple of days have been busy for me. Yesterday a sweet young girl arrived all the way from Ferguson, Mo to have ME take her senior pictures. She was proof that sometimes you don't get what you plan in your mind for, but it can be so much better. I had it in my head that Teja would be kind of serious and "modely". I didn't know her prior so I'm not sure why I thought that, but I had a set idea for how her shoot would go. Well, she was not only absolutely adorable, but had a very free spirit and fun personality. She wanted to twirl and laugh and play, which made for some awesome shots! We had a great day!

Today I was scheduled to shoot some of the kids from Newburg, Mo who were off to prom! I had offered it has a graduation gift because I just adore them and they had used me for senior pictures. Rain kept us indoors in a somewhat tight space. Unfortunately my indoor photography skills are not where I'd like them to be. The pictures are good. I had a blast with the kids and they looked so great. But, I definitely want to hone my skills. I think a class is in my near future. I'll be sure to share what I learn!

All in all, great weekend and the best part is I'm on vacation this week!

I have been doing amateur photography in and around Rolla, Missouri for about four years now. I was always very shy and awkward about meeting new people and making conversation, but this has really taught me to open up with everyone. Opening yourself up to people, and being able to offer them something to cherish, such as family pictures, engagement photos, senior portraits, etc. really changes your outlook. I love hearing people's stories, learning about their lives, even just a little snippet, seeing families interact with one another, and capturing all of that in a photograph.

In this blog, I won't offer a lot of tips and tools of photography because honestly I don't consider myself skilled enough to teach you anything. I'm here to let you share in my journey. You can be along for the ride as I meet new families and photograph special occasions! Of course as I learn new things, I will definitely try to share them with you.

Thanks for visiting and enjoy!
